The Business
Radiology Imaging Associates is a venerated forerunner in advanced imaging, interventional radiology, teleradiology and vascular services throughout Central and Coastal Florida. RIA employ over 50 board certified and fellowship trained physicians, specializing in a wide array of modalities and technologies. Radiology Imaging Associates are also among an elite group recognized as a center of excellence in women’s imaging.
The Problem
Understanding physician productivity is an essential prerequisite in providing a high standard of care in the healthcare field. Oftentimes radiology practices service multiple hospital and outpatient facilities in a geographical region, each with their own data standards, formats, and methodologies. Among the most common of these formats is the international standard Health Level-7 (HL7) document. Consuming these documents for analysis can be difficult, especially when combined other, non-standard data types and formats. This is why Radiology Imaging Associates worked with 3rd party business analytics firms for years to get a handle on their physician study data. In the end, they were no closer to capturing, standardizing, and analyzing their almost 2 million annual data points. They needed a data first solution that would provide them with this crucial analytical capability.
The Solution
With Vinyl(TM), Radiology Imaging Associates launched their custom reporting solution in only 8 weeks, giving RIA the insights they had been after for more than two years.
Vinyl(TM) was able to consume and consolidate physician study data in various formats – including HL7, CSV, and TXT – from over forty hospital and outpatient facilities. Once Vinyl(TM) began capturing this data, RIA were able to report on valuable metrics and analyze trends, targets, and outliers in near real time. Vinyl(TM) also integrated with RIA’s scheduling software, QGenda(TM), to calculate physician performance and productivity per shift.
Radiology Imaging Associates had finally solved their data dilemma with Vinyl(TM). Now RIA can continue to provide the best in class standards of care their patients deserve without the burden of cumbersome data.
